How Dozorm’s logo was born
Founded in 1902 by Blaise ‘The Wolf’ Dozorme, Claude Dozorme is a brand that reflects an ancient but always reinvented family tradition.
The non-conformist brand, forever attracted by both creating from scratch and reinterpreting traditional knives, is dedicated to producing knives that respect tradition while fitting in our modern lifestyles.
All knives by Claude Dozorme are made in our facilities in Auvergne and each one of them is hand-crafted and finished

In the 20th century, the Durolle river provided for the energy required to operate the grind mills. The grinders, also called ventres jaunes (‘yellow stomachs’ referring to the yellow dust released by the grinding wheel), used to apply the blade onto the wheel to give it its cutting edge while a dog lay on their legs to keep them warm.
This key step, the grind, is still carefully performed, though nowadays cutlers work sitting in a more comfortable position.
